Chattar Singh Jeevan Singh flaunts respect for Guru Sahib!

Posted in Late Breaking News by Panthic Weekly Editors on the October 5th, 2007

Amritsar Sahib (KP) -  Panthic Weekly was informed that the controversial publishers known as “Chattar Singh Jiwan Singh“ were caught transporting dozens of Holy Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji in a van without the required proper respect and maryada.

According to sevadaars of the Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee who stopped the van near Beas, up to fifty holy saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji were stacked in the van and were being treated like ordinary books.

The Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee sevadaars immediately notified Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) of the situation.  The SGPC quickly organized proper transport for the Holy saroops to Amritsar Sahib.

Panthic sewadars and Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee activists then took the Chattar Singh Jiwan Singh publishers to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.  The publishers were reportedly then turned over to the local police authorities.

Evangelical Christian Zealots Target Sikhs of Punjab

Posted in Late Breaking News by Panthic Weekly Editors on the October 4th, 2007

Evangelical Christian Zealots Target Sikhs of Punjab :

Exctract from  Baptist Press News :

“There is but one god. True is his name, creative his personality and immortal his form. He is without fear, sans enmity, unborn and self-illumined.”

This plausibly may sound like worship of the God of Christianity, but then comes these words: “By the Guru’s grace he is obtained.”Most Sikhs, however, have never heard about the gift of grace offered to them through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Some people are now using the satsang style of worship and trying to contextualize more so that they can maintain their culture while forsaking the false beliefs,” Wayne said. “Satsang style uses music similar to the Sikh singing. The leader would likely sit rather than stand, and some people are using contextualized terms like ‘Sat Guru’ (True Teacher) for Jesus.”
