Sunken Sikhi : Lewd Dancers performing at a conference for Parkash and Sukhbir Badal
Kartarpur, Punjab (KP) – Anti-gurmat activities at political events of Akali Dal (Badal) are now becoming a norm, and no longer raise eyebrows. The party president, Parkash Badal, has previously been fingered for paying homage at Hindu mandirs and of idols, organizing hawans and giving speeches at inappropriate places but at recent party rally it seemed as if the Badals were set to break all previous records.
While the issue of accepting funds from a tobacco company is still fresh, the Shiromani Akal Dal Badal has again stepped into controversy for inviting vulgar dancers to take the stage at a recent party rally held at Kartarpur. Although the decision was definitely not based on the ideals of Gurmat, it represented a clear and simple motive of the SAD: to gather more audience.
The stage of Akali Dal was set up as usual, with big posters of Parkash and Sukhbir Badal, Akali Dal leaders all around along with a high security presence. But there was one difference. Instead of an inauguration speech, the crowd was greeted by immodest dancers dressed in inappropriate outfits. While many gathered at the scene to watch the ‘tamasha’, some elder Akali Dal leaders took very strong exception to this event.
While talking to the press, a senior party member expressed grief over the incident and stated that these frivolities do not look good taking place at Akali Dal functions. After all, Akali Dal is supposed to the Sikh Religion's Political Party. Many leaders of Panthic organizations, along with some vocal ones from the Shiromani Akali Dal (B) have come forward against the wrongful strategies of Badal and his illicit functions.
Many other Akali leaders have also come forward to report this incident to Akal Takhat Sahib so that action be taken against the Badals for their misbehavior.
