Sarnas Show their True Colors and Once Again Defy Sri Akal Takht & Sikh Rehit Maryada

New Delhi (KP) – The true colors of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) executives Paramjit Sarna and Harvinder Sarna have come into light during the recent ‘Nij Thao’ mandar controversy in New Delhi.
By illuminating the obscure acts of Sarna and Company the true motives of the Sarnas have been exposed. It is apparent that Sarna and company have no respect for the highest political authority of the panth. Despite the Sri Akal Takhts edict which has prohibited the parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Mandirs; however; the Sarnas have openly supported the violation this edict.
Violation of Panthic Edicts
The following is an extract from the official Sikh Rahit Maryada (code of conduct) which has clearly prohibits parkash alongside idols of deities and nihilistic (Hindu) Granths.
ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਮੂਰਤੀ-ਪੂਜਾ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਗੁਰਮਿਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੋਈ ਰੀਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਅਨਮਤ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। - Sikh Rahit Marayda
In addition to the Rehat Marayada, a 2001 edict from Sri Akal Takht Sahib, clearly states the parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s can only be performed where Sikh Rehat maryada and doctrine inscribed in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being followed, and where the congregation is of Sikhs whom have submitted to the authority of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Furthermore, the edict informs that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s parkash will not be tolerated in places where idol worship and non-Sikh rituals are being performed.
“ਪਾਵਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਉਥੇ ਜੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨਕੂਲ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਣ। ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਫਲਸਫੇ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਿਥਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੰਡਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਚੇ-ਸੁਚੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇਣੀ ਹੈ। ਅਜੇਹੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ...ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਹਨੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ।"

Therefore, according to the Rahit Maryada, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroops can not be installed alongside idols of deities, other ‘aan-matee’ granths or non- Sikh places of worship.
Sarna Returns Saroops to Mandar
However, the Sarnas have outright disobeyed this order by returning two of the saroops back to the idol worshiping Mandir which allowed beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on a daily basis.

While the mandar management is guilty of committing beadbi, the Sarnas and the DSGMC whom are suppose to be Sikh sevadars are the most guilty for condoning and encouraging this beadbi.
For no apparent reason the Mandirs beadbi is being rewarded and accepted by the Sarnas and the DSGMC. Sarna has decided to give the Mandir a clean chit; furthermore, Sarna returned two of the saroops which were previously removed by Panthic sevadars.(http://www.panthic.org/articles/5236).
Pressure Tactics being used Against Singhs
In an attempt to avoid conflict and escape negative publicity, staffers from both DSGMC and Nij Mandar have been pressuring the Delhi Police to take serious action and file charges against the sevadars who removed the saroops from the Mandir premises. The Shahbaaz Khalsa sewadars who removed the saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj from the Mandar are now being harassed and intimidated by the Police.
Complaint Submitted to Sri Akal Takht
The sewadars, on the other hand, recently submitted evidence to Sri Akal Takht Sahib in regards to the ongoing beadbi at the Delhi mandars. Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has acknowledged the effort of the sewadars, and promised to look into this matter.

The sewadars, Harminder Singh, Kanwaljeet Singh, Lakhbeer Singh, Harbinder Singh, Satvinder Singh, and Iqbal Singh also filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner and requested that action be taken so Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s saroops are not misused in the future by such non-Sikh groups.

The Sarna brothers and the DSGMC in the past have shown total disregard for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's saroops (see: Desecration of the Guru by Our Own Institutions) and have worked hand-in-hand with the Spokesman/Kala-Afghani lobby in running an endless propaganda campaign against Sri Dasam Granth. Now, they are challenging Sri Akal Takht Sahib's edicts by openly supporting Lachman Chelaram’s diabolical desire to install the Hindu Geeta, Ramayan, and the idols of Hindu deities alongside Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s parkash.
Frustration & Retribution
Perhaps the Sarnas are frustrated that their upcoming ‘World Sikh Samelan’ event could be a major media flop. Due to such fears, no self-respecting Panthic organization has committed to partaking in this function.
Out of spite, Sarna and company seem to be taking retribution against Panthic organizations who have criticized the policies of the DSGMC and the upcoming event.
Panthic observers feel that Sarna and his corrupt DSGMC cohorts need be held accountable for trying to undermine the authority of Sri Akal Takht and the Sikh Rahit Maryada. Otherwise this nexus between the Sarnas and RSS oriented institutions will continue to flout Panthic Maryada and commit further beadbi.
