LEHARGAGA, PUNJAB - In yet another incident that will further enrage the sentiments of the Sikh community, residents of the southern town of Chadpura discovered that followers of Sauda cultist Ram Raheem humiliated and assaulted a young Amritdhari Sikh boy and forcibly sheared of his sacred kes (hair) .

Sikhs consider kes as a gift from God, and do not remove them from their body under any circumstances.

On May 6th of 2011, Sauda cult follower Tarsem Sinh forcibly took Balwinder Singh, age 12 to his nearby shop, and attacked and dishonored the young boy with the help of other cultist “premis”. When the boy resisted the assault, they began to beat him, and then began to shear of his kes with a pair of sharp scissors. The boy suffered several cuts on his head due to the altercation, in which the sacred hair from his head were removed.

When Balwinder Singh reached home, his mother, Charanjit Kaur fainted upon seeing her son in this condition. Neighbors soon arrived to help the family – they were all shocked to see what had just occurred. The Charanjit Kaur and her husband Makhan Singh have approached Gurdwara Sangatpur Sahib Management and other Sikh organizations for help in this matter. The Punjab police, so far, has not taken any action against the premi cultists.

The family stated that the Jakhal Police station initially tried to cover-up the incident, and only filed the complaint paperwork after realizing the threat of action by Sikh organizations. Jakhal Police SHO, Dilbagh Singh has hinted that the police would take action against the cultists Tarsem Singh, son of Rangi Singh and two of his accomplices.

Interestingly, in 2007, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Supreme Temporal and Religious Authority for the Sikhs ordered all Sauda Cult Dera outlets be shutdown throughout Punjab.

The ruling Akali Dal (Badal) party has yet to take action against the cult deras, despite the death of several Sikhs due to the ongoing tension between the cultists and the Sikh community.

To whom it may concern, from reading this I am disgusted by the way Punjab police have not attempted to solve the issues for this family.

Balwinder Singh is a Sikh follower and has the right to keep his kes (hair).

Nobody in this world has the right to cut his hair off, i hope this case is dealt with and the insulters serve time in jail for insult and abuse to a child.

Until the Sikhs realise that when the law fails them they have to take things in their own hands and act- no one will help them- only abuse them.

The more the cultists get away with this stuff the bolder and more abuse they will do in the future.

Only Sikhs can save the Sikhs- I am surprised how when the police failed to do their job these cultists were not taken care off - by legal or illegal means - u know- what I mean.

Try discrediting a Muslim like this - u will see the riot that will take place in the town after wards- no cultist or cultist infrastructure will be left intact.

Sikhs u must stand up for yourself when the lae fails u- no matter the cost- otherwise u will be abused again and again. Your brave anscesters knew this and fought steel with steel!!

How come these lunatics who as it seems, are following and anti-Sikh doctrine, can get away with such heinous acts in the land of the Sikhs?

This is absurd. We come from a nation that protects rights and freedoms, and we can't even come to the rescue of one of our own. This is RIDICULOUS!

I agree with those who say that us, as Singhs and Kaurs, need to stand up for what we believe in! It is no good showing how sad you are or hurt you are; it'll only make the cultists happy that they have 'weakened' us. 'concerned person' is correct with their comparisons to Muslims; the same would happen with any of the 'major' religions of the world... [in fact, they'd probably set off a war]

All I am saying is that we, as the Sikh Nation, need to deal with this problem together and not rely on the police. What did the police ever do to help us? They've tortured our Singhs and Kaurs in the past [if you know what I speak of], so why rely on them? They won't do anything.
It should be thought that if all other peaceful means have failed, we can take the sword and fight for our beliefs.

Have we tried to negotiate with these cultists? I do not think they wish to negotiate after this horrific act of Anti-Sikh racism. Some say the times of cruelty from 1978 and 1984 have ended, but I believe they were just the beginning. Look at the atrocities still continuing today [in the 80s and 90s too], such as this. It seems to be clearer and clearer to me that maybe 1978/1984 was just a stepping stone for us to be prepared for worse things to come; however, that is for Guru Ji to decide. Waheguru Ji has already brought India to a 'Human Rights Watchlist', and shown us the faces of the fake Sikhs.

Please think this through, I know I am only a miniscule voice in the Guru's court, but please take the time to consider my thoughts.
May Waheguru Ji's kirpa be with you all.

Please Sikhs in Punjab - document this case along with others recording all the evidence possibly signed affidavits so that case can be made against the guilty.

The guilty should be treated as they are treating the 'Sikh Victims'.

Please read "I Accuse" by Jarnail Singh (shoe thrower) to see how bad is the state we are in to day. All because of lack of education, knowledge and pride in Sikhi. We have guidence from Guru Granth Sahib - the cuprits are the ones Guru Nanak exposed as imposters and pretentious. Let us not fall in with them.

This is the most humiliated offense. Thats why t he demand of separate Sikhs state is important. There should be some govt. [action] over Sikhs assault, otherwise, situation [could become] to worse.
