SACRIFICE - HONOR
Calgary, Canada (KP) – The 17th Martyrdom anniversary of the Sikh National Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh Babbar was observed at Gurdwara Sahib Dashmesh Cultural Center, Calgary by the family of the Shaheed, along with the Khalsa Reflection Society, Calgary, the Sikh Youth of Calgary, and the local sadh sangat.
It needs to be noted that Bhai Dilawar Singh Babbar was posthumously bestowed the title of "ਕੌਮੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ" or "National Martyr" by Sri Akal Takht Sahib for his role in bringing the tyrant Beant Sinh to justice. Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest seat of Sikh religious and temporal authority.
In the 1990s, Beant Sinh was responsible for unleashing state sponsored terrorism against the Sikh community that resulted countless human rights violations and the ruthless murder of thousands of youths across Punjab, many of whom are still unaccounted for till this day.

ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਤੇ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਲਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਰਿਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹਰਨੇਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਰਿਫ਼ਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮੱਲੇਵਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਆਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਂਹੀਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਯੋਧੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਝਲੀਆਂ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਲੁਧਿਆਣੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਢਾਡੀ ਫ਼ੌਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਢਾਡੀ ਜੱਥੇ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋਸ਼ ਮਈ ਢਾਡੀ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਸੁਣਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈ ਦਿਲਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ-ਸਾਥੀ ਰਿਫ਼ਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ, ਭਾਈ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮੱਲੇਵਾਲ, ਭਾਈ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਅਮਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਤੇਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਧ-ਚੜ ਕੇ ਇੱਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ।
