I am really sadden to see how my Sikh brothers are beaten by crazy police. I think we should stand up for our rights and teach Punjab government and Indian government a lesson.

Wake up Sikh brothers, before its too late

I believe in what Jessie Singh is saying it brings tears in my eyes seeing our brothers being beaten when they have been wounded by armed police for protesting for there faith and being treated worse then animals we need a lion like Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji a TRUE Saint Soldier who would of defended us may Waheguru bless someone now!

We have had no justice for Sirsa baba who has killed our Singhs last year and now I know we wont get anything now and be blamed extremists or radicals by the media I just cant believe how we are treated!

Police and paramilitary forces open fire and kill Sikh protesters on Saturday 5 December in Ludhiana, Punjab

I am writing to request you urgently raise the above matter on my behalf with the Foreign Secretary and the Indian authorities. Sikhs living the UK are outraged when we see such incidents of police brutality and discrimination. It is incidents like these of deliberate provocation and targeting that force Sikhs to think about their long term future in India.

On Saturday 5 December 2009 police and paramilitary forces opened fire to stop Sikh protesters, belonging to Sikh religious organisations, marching towards a controversial anti-Sikh two-day event organised in Ludhiana by Dera Divya Jyoti of Ashutosh.

It has been confirmed at least one Sikh has been killed and around15 seriously injured. The photograph of Darshan Singh, the 58-year old that was shot dead, is shown below:


The death toll is expected to increase. Despite an indefinite curfew in the city there has been uproar across Punjab at the heavy handed action of the police and paramilitary forces. Upon seeing footage and photographs, such as those below, reports are coming in of thousands of Sikhs preparing to travel to Ludhiana to participate in further protests.


Sikh religious organisations have called for a peaceful ‘bandh’ (closure) in Ludhiana and cases to be registered against Ashutosh and BJP MLA Harish Bedi, who is also reported to have fired shots at Sikh protesters. Meanwhile the Punjab government recognising the seriousness of the situation has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.

Sikhs are particularly upset as what has been interpreted as double standards and deliberate provocation of Sikhs. On Thursday and Friday following a minor incident there was widespread arson and violence by migrant workers in three-quarters of Ludhiana. This was permitted without any action taken by the police. However, the protest march by Sikh religious organisations on Saturday was met with the use of tear gas, batons and then live ammunition.

I urge you to take this matter up as my elected representative and copy me in any correspondence with the Foreign Secretary or the Indian authorities and there responses.

my dear SIKH brothers and sisters ... let us not forget that Punjab is governed by SIKHS and majority of the police force is SIKH ... it is really sad to see that the atrocities committed on SIKHS are by SIKHS ... we as SIKHS should stand up and take responsibility for our own past present and future ... we are trying to blame someone for our miseries but the blame lies with us ... our leaders are engaged in power struggles and busy robbing our Punjab, thereby robbing our own people ... let us awaken and make our elected leaders accountable for their responsibilities and our money

Whatever today happened is a result of our own wrong choice of leaders. Actually we don't have any choice since all political leaders are corrupted before they even become a leader or on their very first day of becoming a leader...

these leaders are so selfish that they can't even think a moment of the Sikh community welfare. The most shameful thing is that they call themselves to be sikhs when they don't even pay a little respect to our Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Hope Waheguru gives us strength to fight against Sikhs unfairness, brutality....and Waheguru bless the families of the shaheeds.

It is my appeal to those brothers and sisters who call themselves to be Sikhs but still have not taken "Amrit". I hope today they do promise themselves to take the path that set by our Gurus and be a Khalsa.

From Sikh history we learned that the Courts, Police and Government had never gave us any justice and the attackers had always walked free. In the entire India there isn't any basic Human Rights for our Sikhs.

Do Ardas and our Pita Ji (Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji) will protect the Khalsa and will provide us with justice. Sikhs have to protect Sikhs and don't fall in the tactics of Governments of separating us from each other by falling into small groups against each other.

These policemen are just working for money that’s it . For money they can go up to the extreme limits of brutality and cruelty. They only know how to take bribe from the innocent people and do flattery of politicians . I think the present Punjab government is just a puppet of BJP and RSS ruled by Prakash Kumar Badal and his son .

May Waheguru bless us with the courage and faith to fight against the injustice being done to us .

I totally agree with AD, it sadness me to see SIKHS Killing SIKHS, there is not enough of us in the world instead of sticking together we are killing each other for what ?
