LITTLE BADAL CANCELS CANADA VISIT
CHANDIGARH, PUNJAB - Fearing arrest and possible security complications, Sukhbir, the junior Badal, promptly cancelled his upcoming Canadian tour after several Sikh organizations announced that they would taken legal action against the deputy chief minister for his role in atrocities committed against Sikhs and for commanding "a police force that had committed, ordered, incited and abetted extra-judicial killings of several Canadians in India."
Sikhs for Justice and the Canadian Sikh Coalition stated that they would seek prosecution and arrest of Sukhbir during his visit to Canada under the country's criminal code, which provided that "every official, or every person acting at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of an official, who inflicts torture on any other person is guilty of an indictable offense".

NEW JATHEDAR FOR TAKHT SRI KESGARH SAHIB OR BADAL 'RUBBER STAMP'
ANANDPUR SAHIB, PUNJAB - After the death of Giani Tarlochan Singh, the SGPC handpicked and appointed Giani Mal Singh as the next Jathedar of Takht Sri Patna Sahib, one of the five Sikh Takhts representing temporal-political power in Sikhism.
Giani Mal Singh, who is currently the head-granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, will most likely tow the official Akali Dal (Badal) policies and agendas as set forth by the SGPC, and the dera oriented Sant-Samajis.
This was evidenced by the presence of Sant-Samaj President Harnam Singh Dhumma (Chief of Damdami Taksal - Mehta) along with Jasbir Singh Rode and other dera oriented babas who seemed eager to congratulate Giani Mal Singh to his new position at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.
Time will tell whether Giani Mal Singh will follow and enforce the principles of Gurmat and Panthic Maryada during his service a a Takht Jathedar or merely become a meaningless rubber stamp for the Badal junta like his predecessor and peers.
