NEW DELHI – (KP) Tilak Vihar Sikh families who had survived the 1984 state sponsored anti-Sikh pogroms received a jolt of reality again on India’s purported ‘Independence Day’ when members of their community, along with their Gurdwara Sahib was attacked by local hoodlums. Just as in 1984, local police authorities stood by idly and watched the mayhem take place.
Reportedly, dozens of Sikhs have been seriously injured in the altercations at Tilak Vihar. According to Sangat TV (UK), local hospitals have refused to treat some of the wounded Sikhs, who then had to be transferred to private hospitals in nearby areas.
